Playground Poker Club - In Our Community
The Director of Charitable Initiatives at Playground Poker Club is none other than Hockey Hall of
Famer Larry Robinson. As such, Larry is heavily involved in seeking new
organizations that can benefit from our various fundraising efforts.
Playground Poker Club supports charitable initiatives in three distinct ways.
First, we provide organizations with all of the support they need to throw a successful fundraising event.
Second, we organize our own major tournaments that include an important charitable giving component.
Finally, we make direct contributions to organizations with a mandate to support and improve our local community.
Larry Robinson said it best: "Poker is a great way to bring people together, and an even better way to raise awareness for causes near to our hearts."
Our Kateri School families benefited from "Start with a School Bag" project. Your gift of kindness went to families who could celebrate starting their school year with something beautiful. For sure everyone in life has financial challenges at some point and this gave our children a reason to wear their smiles bright. The mothers were very appreciative and for sure wore their smiles, too. We thank you for taking care of our children, families and community in moving forward with acts of kindness.
The Kiwanis Club of Lakeshore Montreal is a group of volunteers who give their time and dedication to making their communities and the world a better place to live & work. Our club hosts poker tournaments at Playground Poker, which is one of our many resources for raising money. Playground Poker has been very accommodating in allowing us to have our own private tournaments. We will continue with the poker tournaments & hope to grow this to a much bigger event.
Over the past two years Playground Poker has been a very generous supporter of KSDPP as one of the major sponsors for our annual golf tournament. The proceeds of this event go directly to our youth sports and community programs. Their support is greatly appreciated and with it, KSDPP is able to continue providing affordable programming for our youth in Kahnawake. This year funds will be supporting Free Family Skating, Yoga, the After School Sports League and Cooking Workshops to parents and youth.
We did a fundraising poker tournament for our AAA Softball Team (Rebelles 2001). It was AMAZING!!! The staff were extremely friendly and professional, the ambiance was truly awesome, and the food was amazing! It was an day like no other. Everyone enjoyed themselves, and would even stick around to continue watching others play. We are constantly asked to run more tournaments. The amount raised was in the thousands. Thank you – we are looking forward to organizing another tournament shortly.
